Darrel Lee Rouse Sr, 84, peacefully passed into eternal life at his home on Thursday September 25, 2025.  He was born in Green Bay, WI on May 22, 1941, son of the late Howard and Margaret (nee: Graney) Rouse.

Darrel was united in marriage to the love of his life, Kay Christine Kemnitz, on November 16, 1963, in Mapleton, Wisconsin. Darrel graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1959.  He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, serving as an aircraft electrician from 1961-1965, earning the rank of Airman First Class.  After his discharge from the Air Force, Darrel had a 37-year career as an elevator technician with Westinghouse/Schindler.  “If it’s an OTIS, take the stairs.”  Darrel was an active member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Darrel was an avid hunter, and a lifetime member of Wisconsin Sportsman’s Association.  He taught black powder hunters’ safety for many years and especially enjoyed participating in an annual 1800’s rendezvous. Darrel had a huge heart and lovingly accepted anyone into his fold.  Above everything, Darrel loved his entire family tremendously adopting the phrase, “Do you know you are my favorite?” His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of his heart.

Darrel leaves to cherish his memory; his daughters, Nadene (James) Foti of Franklin, Maureen (Eric) Ellis of Racine; sons, Andrew (Lita) Rouse of Racine, Aaron (Tania) Rhoads of Fond Du Lac, Adam Rouse of Orlando, FL, Bart (Anna) Rouse of Wimauma, FL, Darrel (Michelle) Rouse Jr. of Mount Pleasant, Casey (Kimberly) Rouse of Racine, Thomas (Michelle) Rouse of Mount Pleasant, and Tristan Rouse of Sturtevant; grandchildren, Dylan, Ryan, Tara, Sarah, Samantha, Rebecca, Benjamin, Jordan, Epiphany, Adeline, Amanda, Adam Jr, Brandon, Collin, Breann, Jacob, Lily, Alexandria, CJ, Emily, Kyah, Isaac, Kaity, Thomas Jr, Jacqueline, Jayda, James, Damion, Tristan Jr, Tyler, and Hunter; 15 great- grandchildren; sisters Eleanor Frawley and Audrey (Phil) Rohan; beloved nieces, nephews, friends and relatives too numerous to count. In addition to his parents, Darrel is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay Christine Rouse; siblings Clinton Lovelace, Bernadine Hazen, Doris VanderMulen, George Rouse, Kathleen Rouse, Bobby Rouse, Danny Rouse, Paul Rouse; and his granddaughter Allyssa Rouse.

I am so sorry to hear. I got to work with Darrel in PT and was hoping I would get to send him a picture this fall of my next big buck. We loved talking about hunting. I know he will be smiling at me when I get one next. My sincere condolences

So truly sorry to hear of Uncle Darrel’s passing; he will be remembered fondly for his loving commitment to family, his sense of humor, his story telling, and his bigger than life personality. Loved the stories he would share about our mom, and loved that he had the same birthday as our dad. Keeping all his family and friends in our hearts and prayers. With love, the Hazen family
