~~St. Paul, MN (formerly of Racine) – Darrell Timothy Smith; age 43; beloved son of Linda & Greg Coleman and Lawrence Johnson; passed away peacefully at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN on Monday, February 8, 2016 following a longtime heart condition.

Darrell was born in Racine on April 19, 1972. He attended J.I. Case High School. He lived in Racine until 2006 – when he moved to St. Paul, MN to be closer to family when his health began to fail.

Darrell loved to cook for all of his family and friends. He was truly a "People Person" and served as a father figure to many. Darrell also liked to fish and listen to his extensive collection of music. He was happiest when surrounded by all of his loved ones. May he now rest in peace.

Surviving are his parents, Linda & Greg Coleman; father, Lawrence Johnson; children, Andrea Flowers, Lania Smith, Darrell Smith, Jr. and Katoria Smith; brothers, Anthony Smith, Lawrence Smith, Orlando Johnson and Kenneth (Bertha) Smith; sister, Twilia Smith; special aunts, Cilia Smith and Rosalie Kirk; devoted friends, Chimanga Winston, Willie Lee, Jr. and Clifford Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends (including his adored step-children) – too numerous to mention by name.

Darrell was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loretta and Edgar Smith. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm in Lakeview Church of Christ, 3224 Wright Avenue. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Viewing will be in Lakeview Church of Christ on Monday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.
