Racine –  Dartavis L. Shelton, 38, of Racine, WI, passed away unexpectedly, at Waupun Memorial Hospital in Waupun, WI on Monday February 14, 2022. He was born in Racine on November 21, 1983, the son of Charles "Chris" E. Shelton and the late Evelyn T. Smith.

Dartavis enjoyed spending time with family and friends and getting to know his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed cracking jokes and talking smack. He loved his entire family. He will be remembered by his infectious smile and laughter.

Dartavis is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Diante Rogers, Deonte Westmoreland, Vayta Jones, Miracle Jones, and Lavoyia (Christopher) Jackson; father, Charles "Chris" Shelton; grandmother, Marilyn Thomas Grandberry; step-grandmother, Louise Knuckles-Smith; uncles, Danny Smith, Alandus Grandberry and Lamont Thomas; aunt, Annie Smith, Carolyn (Ronald) Lawrence, and Gala Scott; special cousin Kristy (Edward) Turner, Shenita Smith and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his mother, Dartavis was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Ann Freeman; step-grandfather, Louis C. Freeman; grandfathers, Nathaniel Smith, and Herbert Thomas Grandberry; uncle, Larry C. Smith, Billy Thomas, and Timothy Thomas; aunts, Thelma J. Wiggins, Sonia Freeman, Regina Martin, Reta Thomas, and Linda Thomas.

His homegoing services will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd, Mount Pleasant, WI 53403 on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Daryn D. Crenshaw officiating. Visitation will be that day from 10-11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.

Crenshaw officiating. Visitation will be that day from 10-11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
