David A. Cook, 68, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was born in Racine, on November 30, 1955, the son of Herschel Cook Sr and Dorothy (nee: DeRango) Waldron. David had been employed by the United States Post Office for over 32 years, retiring in 2013, 30 of which were as Union Steward and Secretary. He graduated from J.I. Case High School, Class of '73. David enjoyed collecting fashion dolls, art, drawing, particularly Irises, flower gardening, antiquing, and cooking. David was the kind of person who looked for the good in everyone. He was known for his extensive paperwork in order to win grievances . He had the ability to make people laugh and feel at ease. He was such a kindhearted soul. Surviving are his husband, and life partner for over 35 years, Patrick Pakenham; mother, Dorothy Waldron; siblings, Michael (Bridget) Cook, all of Racine, Debbie (Mark) Cramer, of Carpentersville, IL, and Dymphna (George) Blake, of Kenosha; Goddaughter, Sam Cooper, and a special mention to Zac Cooper. His numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends also survive him. David was preceded in death by his father, Herschel Cook Sr., brother, Herschel Cook Jr., sisters, Christine Cook, and Jennifer Waldron. Special Thanks to Scott Kister, his sister, Dymphna, and Sue and Jeff Cooper for all of their love and support.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, March 23 rd , in the funeral home, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
