Obituary

David T. Scholzen, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away at the Oak Ridge Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. He was born in Racine on April 10, 1942, the son of the late Theodore and Rose (nee: Klass) Scholzen.

David graduated from St. Catherine's High School, Class of 1960. He had been employed by S.C. Johnson and Son for over 35 years, retiring in 1999. David had served in the Army National Guard. He also was a member of the Johnson 20 Year Club, the J.M.B.A., and the Sierra Club. David was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling, especially to the National Parks, and was a diehard Packer and Cubs fan.

Surviving are his children, Karen (Jeff) Lisiecki, of Eagle, WI, Michael (Jen) Scholzen, of Waterford, WI; grandchildren, Teddy Scholzen, Jaden Lisiecki, and Ryan Lisiecki; sister, Patricia (Michael) Koutelakis, of Racine; niece, Christina Koutelakis and her husband Panagiotis Xytakis; and nephew, Keith (Annie) Belongia, and his beloved cat "Bogey" whom he affectionately called his Lion. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nicholas and Barbara Scholzen, Jacob and Catherine Klass; sister, Nancy Belongia; and niece, Sue Stock.

Service Details

A Celebration of his life will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, November 2nd, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
