Obituary

David Scott Knott Stelmack, 57, passed away at his residence, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. He was born in Racine on August 1, 1969, the son of Chester M. and Doreen B. (nee: Knott) Stelmack.

David was a graduate of Washington Park High School in 1988 and attended Fox Valley Technical College for Flexographic printing. He applied his excellent printing skills in the family business, Liberty Label Corp. In his free time, David was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on his car and keeping his nephews’ go-kart running. He was also always drawn to the older model Cadillacs. Growing up David spent many years camping with his family on a seasonal site in West Bend where many lifelong friends were made. At home, David watched endless hours of science and history programs on TV and whittled away countless hours texting and viewing a wide variety of videos on his phone. Up north at “Trails End”, David captained the pontoon boat rides for his mother, tinkered endlessly with the 1942 Model A John Deere tractor (his pride and joy), drove a motorcycle and ATV around the property, sat around the campfire making s’mores at night and watched sunrises and sunsets over Town Corner Lake. Above all, David enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are his loving mother, Doreen Stelmack; heartbroken sister, Lisa (Thomas) Helland; nephews, Chad (Natalie Tkaczuk) Helland, all of Racine, and Bryce Helland, serving with the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas. He is also survived by additional relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his father, Chester M. Stelmack, his maternal grandparents Eleanore and Clare Knott and paternal grandparents Ted and Adela Grabowski, along with his aunts Jean Szaradowski and Helen Sebastian.
