DeAmontay Nathaniel Buckley was born May 10, 2004, in Racine, Wisconsin, to the loving parents of Carol Oberlin and Yusuf Buckley Sr.
DeAmontay was educated in the Racine Unified School District. DeAmontay was a senior and was scheduled to graduate from Case High School in June of 2022.
DeAmontay loved spending time with family, friends and his girlfriend. He enjoyed playing basketball and Xbox video games. He also enjoyed challenging his older brothers in various sports activities and always wanted to win. DeAmontay was skilled at using computers and electronics. His favorite meals were chicken and tacos. He was a comedian at heart and loved to make his family and friends laugh. He was employed at Mt, Sinai Gym, Burger King and Menards while attending high school. He cherished working at the gym with Alex Ersing, special mentor and friend.
DeAmontay leaves to cherish his memory; Mother, Carol Oberlin, Father, Yusuf (Tina) Buckley Sr. Brothers: Aaron (Ashley) Harris, Calvin (Nicole) Oberlin, Brandon (Madison) Nelson, Larry Canady, Khalil Buckley, Malachi Fisher, Andrew (Christina) Buckley, Dominic Townsend and Yusuf Buckley Jr. Sisters; Dellora Buckley and AliYunna Buckley. Grandparents; Charles Oberlin, Sr., Willie Carr and Min. Della Buckley. Nieces; Casidee Harris, Ariyana Espinosa, Emma and Morgyn Oberlin. Nephews; Jayden Harris, Alijah Nelson and Liam Stewart. Uncles, Wayne Oberlin, Charles (Courtney) Oberlin, Jr., Tyrone (Tiffany) Buckley, Laon Carr and Sidney Carr. Aunts, Rebecca (William) Allsopp and Tiffany (Jerry) Henderson. Special Great Aunt, Carol Henderson and Special cousin, Tasha (Tony) Cobb. Special Aunts; Margie Stuckey and Michelle Mayfield. Girlfriend, Marisela Partida and a host of family members to numerous to name.
Preceding him in death are his Grandmother Darlene Zoern, Aunt Denise Terry and Special Great Aunt Shirley Buckley.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (1123 Center St.) on Saturday, February 26, 2022, for a visitation from 10-11 a.m. A service celebrating DeAmontay's life and Homegoing will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating.
