Debra Hodges-West

Oct 29, 1956 – May 24, 2009

Debra Hodges-West, 52, was called Home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 24, 2009. Debra was born in Houston, MS on October 29, 1956 the daughter of the late Muldrow and Willie Bell (nee: Pulliam) Hodges. Debra received Christ at an early age and was devoted to her God, her church and her family for the rest of her life. She was a very active member of the Starlight Outreach Ministry and served as the church Secretary/Treasurer. She had been employed by the Marriott and the Lincoln Lutheran Facilities. Surviving are her daughter, Rhonda Hodges of Chicago; her goddaughter Priscilla Poole of Racine; sisters and brothers, Lucy Sherrod of Beloit, WI, John Wesley Pulliam of Houston, MS, Willie Mae (Thomas) Brinker of Springfield, IL, U.S. “Ted” Hodges and Callie Hodges both of Racine, and brother-in-law Samuel Matthews of Rolling Fork, MS. Debra is also survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and by her church family at Starlight Outreach Ministry. In addition to her parents Debra was preceded in death by her daughter Diandra West, and by her brothers and sisters, M.L. Hodges, Olivia Baldwin, Mallie Pulliam and Carrie Matthews. Her Homegoing Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, May 29th, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. John Thomas and Bishop L. L. Kirby officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Service. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
