Obituary

BOYNTON BEACH, FL. (formerly of Racine and Milwaukee) – Della Mae Story, 91, passed away at her residence on November 11, 2020.

She was born in Kenosha on July 14, 1929, the daughter of the late James and Ethel ( Moss) Drumgoole.

Della was employed at American Motors for a number of years.  However, she was also a business woman and entrepreneur.  She owned and operated the Nip & Sip Cocktail Lounge in Racine.  She treasured spending time with her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.  Della also enjoyed participating in the Merry Makers Social Club.

She is survived by her daughter, F. Noor "Vanessa" Jawad of Boynton Beach; her grandchildren, Motiya Q. (Hezron) Lopez, Sakeena A.Q. Jawad, both of Boynton Beach, FL, and Courtland S. James of Arizona; her great-grandchildren, Qavia, Adla, Azeez, Magali, Sulayman and Samadhi all of Boynton Beach, FL; her niece and nephews, Kimberly (Edward) Jenkins, Bradford (Maria) Lee and Jeffrey Lee all of Racine; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.  Della was preceded in death by her husbands, Rudolph Chatfield and John Story; her sister, Ruth Lee; her brother, Julius Pullin and her nephew, Charles R. "Rick" Lee III.

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, for a viewing and time to pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.  Masks or face coverings will be required.  A private service will take place for her family.  The service will be aviable to watch via live stream by clicking on this link at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. https://youtu.be/hnK0EhFdbhA She will be interred at West Lawn Memorial Park.
