Racine, WI – Delores D. Bogan, was born on October 21, 1959, in Tupelo, Mississippi, and moved to Racine, Wisconsin in 1960. She received her formal education in The Racine Unified School District at Jefferson Elementary School and graduated from J.I. Case High School.
Later in life she accepted Christ and was baptized at the Greater St. Luke's Baptist Church by the late Rev. E.E. Woods. Delores worked for Admiral Janitorial Service in housekeeping until her health began to fail.
Delores enjoyed listening to music and dancing. She was the Life of The Party with her moves. She also enjoyed family gatherings and singing. Most of all she loved spending quality time with her kids and grandkids.
Delores D. Bogan departed this life peacefully on August 20, 2021, at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with her children by her side.
She is preceded in death by her parents James and Annie (Nee: Bradford) Bogan Sr.; sisters Patricia (Lillard) Darby, Mary Bogan, Jeffery Bogan, and Samantha Bogan, as well as her brother Lance Willie Bogan.
Delores leaves to cherish her memory: her three children Czaka C. Bogan, Marlinzo M. Drane, and Latoya L. Drane; stepson Joseph Brumfield; three grandchildren Tra'vone L. Bogan, Travis L. Williams Jr., and Canijah M. James; two great-grandchildren Lazavion Drane and Zola Hazel Williams; her significant other, Raymond Girly; brothers James Bogan, Jr., Johnnie Bogan, Willie D. Hughes, and Walter Talley; two sisters Theritha Bogan-Harris and Annie F. Isom; special friend Leroy Weddles and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name.
The Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 11:00am, in the chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, WI. Visitation will be in the chapel from 10:00am – 11:00am. Pastor Melvin Hargrove will be officiating the service. Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
