A private service was held.

Derwin Taylor, 65, of Racine passed away at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, following a fall at home. He was born in Gary, Indiana on February 11, 1960, the son of the late Arthur and Cora Lee (nee: Jones) Taylor Sr.

After graduating from high school Derwin started his career as a cook. He practiced this skill at various restaurants throughout the United States. He was a self-taught mechanic and enjoyed working on cars for his family and friends. Derwin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and of course cooking for his family.

Surviving are his six children, LaKeyra Taylor, Tremell Marberry, Derwin Montrell Taylor, Angela (Branden Dickson) Taylor, Demara Taylor, and Derwin Taylor Jr. ; thirteen grandchildren, one great grandson, six siblings, Ola Hall, Lloyd (Katrina) Taylor, Thembeline “Lena” (Terrance) Barthel, Jacqueline Wilson, Don Juan Taylor, and Tawjuan (Aisha) Taylor. His nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive him. In addition to his parents, Derwin was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Genovia “June” (William) Congious, and brother, Arthur “June Bug” Taylor Jr.
