Dewey Honor, Jr. age 75, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI at 12:50am. Dewey was born in Racine on February 20, 1951 to Dewey Honor, Sr. and Daisy (Kemp) Honor.

Dewey graduated from Case High School in 1970. In 1971 he was drafted into the US Army and served until 1973. Returning home to Racine he worked multiple jobs including Twin Disc, Kenosha Steel Casting, Harris Metals, Durham School Services and First Student Bus Company. As a child he became a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Dewey loved Gospel music. He also enjoyed smooth R&B like Earth, Wind, and Fire, the Temptations, and Rose Royce, but his favorite was the Ohio Players. Dewey loved to fish and he also loved to dance. His favorite fishing spots were Fort Atkinson and Fox River, which he called "Fishing on the Fox." He passed his love for fishing on to all his sons. Dewey never heard a tune that he wouldn't jump up and dance to. He was known for "cutting the rug on the dance floor and all alone if he had to." He was often the life or "cut-up" of the party. His children also acquired his love for the game of pool. He was a good pool player and enjoyed spending time at the beach. Dewey loved his family and being with them.

Dewey is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann (Cosey) Honor of 40 years. Two children; Dewey "Corky" Honor III (Racine) and Melissa Cosey-Honor (Waukee,Iowa), Daughter-in-law; Tameeka (Goodwin) Cosey, Ten grandchildren; Alexis Honor, Zamiria, Christopher, Melissa, Na'Jeer, and Nikaria Cosey, Samaria Warzinsky, Shamar and Ki Jackson, and Terrence Miller. Four great-grandchildren; Autumn, McKenna, Mavric, and Gianna. Two brothers; Daniel Honor Sr. and Willie (Doris) Harris (all of Racine). Also Cassandra "Kay", Janice, and Robert Russell Jr., who are his nieces and nephew raised by his parents, but reared as close siblings. Dewey is preceded in death by his two sons: Michael Andre and Christopher Arnez Cosey. His parents; Dewey Sr. and Daisy, four siblings; Robert Russell Sr., Costell Webb, Henry Honor and sister, Pashon Bell.

A Homegoing celebration of Dewey's life will be held on Wednesday, July 15 at 11:00 am. Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home Chapel, 4600 County Line Road, Racine, WI. Visitation 10am. Interment- Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. RePass Celebration held at the Main Project and Cafe, 1014 State Street in Racine.
