Obituary

Donald J. Kaniewski, 89, passed away at Ascension-All Saints, Racine, on Monday, July 16, 2018. He was born in Milwaukee on March 28, 1929 the son of the late John Paul and Pearl "Polly" Kaniewski.

On August 28, 1948, in St. Hyacinth Church, Milwaukee, he was married to Dolores A. Komassa, who preceded him in death on December 14, 2006. Mr.  Kaniewski had been employed by A.C. Spark Plug. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, and spent many long hours at the Racine Y.M.C.A., exercising and conversing with the members.

Surviving are his two daughters, Deborah (Rod) Malzahn, of Mt. Pleasant, and Dawn (Robert) Augustyn, of Pewaukee; granddaughter, Cherie (Del) Tuttle, of Union Grove; two great grandsons, Johnathan and Michael Tuttle; three sisters, Florence Boschke, of East Troy, Grace Tokorski, of Manitowoc, and Constance Sawyer, of Milwaukee; two brothers Ken and Jerry Kaniewski, both of Milwaukee. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Mr. Kaniewski was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret, Dorothy, and Evelyn.

Service Details

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, Racine, on Friday, July 20 th , at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Yamid Blanco officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, 3801 Sixth St., Milwaukee, at 1:00 p.m.
