Obituary

Racine – Dorothea "Dottee" Jacobson, 88, passed away at Kindred North in Kenosha on Friday, February 14, 2014. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 21, 1925, daughter of the late William and Florence (nee: Mischke) Ahlborn. She was married in Atlanta, Georgia on September 17, 1958 to Charles E. Jacobson. Dottee and Charles lived in Illinois and Arizona until moving to Racine in 2003.

Dottee lead a life of service to others, giving much of her time to food pantries and charity resale shops, hospital gift shops, driving for Meals-on-Wheels, or transporting fellow church members to a variety of appointments. She had a beautiful voice, and loved singing in several choirs. It was her family though that was the most important part of her life.

Dottee is survived by her loving husband of nearly 56 years, Charles Jacobson; her children Jake (Kay) Jacobson and Mari (Gerry) Danzer both of Racine, and Jim (Sharon) Jacobson of Wonder Lake, Illinois; step-son Earl (Linda) Jacobson of Denver, Colorado; sister Beverly Mitchel of Hammond, Indiana; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jack Jacobson; and sister, Marilyn Edwards.

Memorial services for Dottee will be held at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (3805 Kinzie Avenue) on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Visitation will begin at 11am, and the memorial service at 1pm with Rev. John Bischoff presiding. Interment will take place on Thursday, February 20th at 1pm at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Memorials to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, or the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) have been suggested.
