Obituary

Racine –

Dorothy Mae Davis, age 69, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.  She was born in Pace, Mississippi on November 19, 1949, to the late Arfus and Charity (nee: Price) Jackson.

Mother Davis received her formal education and graduated high school in The Mississippi Public School System.

Mother Davis accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  Upon moving to Racine she attended various churches.  She soon became a faithful member of New Omega Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Fred L. Richmond.

Mother Davis was employed by American Motors as an Assembly Worker.  In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking, shopping and taking care of others.  She was always willing to lend a listening ear to anyone that needed her.  She loved listening to Gospel Music, attending church services at New Omega, where she served on the Mother's Board and spending time with her family.  Mother Davis was a Foster Parent with Racine County Foster Care System for over thirty years.  She owned and operated Danny's Group Home.  She also raised and took care of numerous children in her home.

Mother Davis leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her children, Charity (Marvin) Booker, Donnie (Jacqueline) Jackson, Durrell (Lynette) Davis, Casey Morris and Barry Burge all of Racine, WI and April Morris and Chris Burge both of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Tiffany, Dontriel, Tamika, Tacoya, Andre, Andrea, Durrell Jr., Donnie G., Dhareal, Diamond and Zionn, she was also blessed to see twelve great-grandchildren, all of Racine, WI; she is further survived by three brothers, Albert, Arthur and Billy Jackson as well as one sister, Easter Hayes all of Racine, WI.  She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other relatives and special friends too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arfus and Charity; one sister, Thelma and three brothers, Larry, Roy and Tommie.

The Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019, 12:00pm, at New Omega Baptist Church, 5731 Norhtwestern Avenue, Racine, WI.  Visitation will be in the church from 11:00am until the time of service.  Pastor Fred L. Richmond will be officiating.  Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park.
