Racine – Dorothy Louise Hamilton, 77, passed away in the peaceful surroundings of her son's home on Saturday, July 5, 2014. She was born in Calhoun County, Mississippi on May 20, 1937, daughter of the late Eli and Thelma (nee: Gladney) Curtis. Dorothy was a Racine resident for nearly 60 years. She was employed at Greene Manufacturing for over 20 years until she retired in 1999. She was a member of Trinity United Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Claude (Mary) Hamilton and Arquincy (Valarie) Hamilton; grandchildren, Chauncey and Colbie Hamilton, Quincy Carr, Ledante Harris, Pierre Hamilton, and Andre Oliver; 10 great grandchildren; Brother, Willie (Lucy) Curtis; sister, Thelma (Richard) Cook; her former husband and friend, Claude L. Hamilton; and many other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be held at St. Paul Baptist Church (Center St. at 11th St.) at 11am on Monday, July 14, 2014. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held in the funeral home Sunday, July 13th from 4pm – 6pm; and in the church on Monday from 9:30am – 10:45am.
