Dorothy I. Jensen

Mar 10, 1940 – Sep 1, 2025

Service Details

Per Dorothy’s wishes, private services were held. She will be laid to rest next to Robert at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice Care and nurse Kelly for the compassionate care and support given to Dorothy in her time of need.

Dorothy Jensen (nee: Slater), 85, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Dorothy was born in Racine on March 10, 1940, daughter of the late Francis and Marie (nee: Haigh) Slater. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert R. Jensen, on August 16, 1963, in Waukegan, IL. Among her interests, Dorothy loved riding with Robert on his Harley Davidson bike trips to Sturgis, Daytona and Laconia; together they travelled to all 50 states and many countries around the world; she enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s football games on Saturday mornings; she mastered every puzzle and crossword which were in front of her; she was an avid reader. First and foremost, Dorothy loved spending time with Robert and their family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, son, Delbert (Kathryn) Jensen and daughter, Rosemarie (Craig) Olsen; grandchildren, Jacob Jensen, Lisa (Nick) Chalupa, Joseph Hand, Jr., Robert Hand, and Amber (Tony) Altenbach; great-grandchildren, Laila Jensen, Ava Reeser, Lincoln Chalupa, Madilyn, Brody and Sophia Hand. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Francis and Marie; sister, Donna Nelson; and brother, Wesley Slater.

Testimonials

Helene Hellesen

Bill’s service was beautiful, beyond belief. Leslie was priceless in all she did. Gary, knowing Bill for many years, said a few words at the service. The special touched I didn’t expect warmed my heart. Two very, very special people helped make a sad day into something very special.

Thank you to all those that helped behind the scene, setting up, opening doors. My heart is full.

Bless you.
