Obituary

Dorothy Jean Sutton, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Ascension – All Saints Hospital in Racine, Wisconsin.  She was born in Cairo, Illinois on August 30, 1947, the daughter of John S. and Ora Lee (nee: Brown) Sutton.  Dorothy graduated from Summler High School in Cairo, Illinois and was a Racine resident for most of her life.

Dorothy accepted Christ at the age of 43 and was a member of Greater Grace Temple for 33 years.  She was caring, loving and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Dorothy loved attending church, reading the Bible and listening to gospel music.  She has always been an outgoing person and everyone knew her as a Fashionista.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, John S. Sutton; mother, Ora Lee Sutton; grandson, Jame're Miller; son, George L. Nichols; sister, Marjorie Sutton; brothers, Frank Sutton, Johnny Sutton, Brush (Connie) Sutton, Michael (Claudia) Sutton; niece, Stacy Bridges; late husband, John Lee Bell and Special friends, Sheila Taylor and Lillie Foots.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Charmain Bell; sons, Kenneth Daryl Sutton, Brian Nichols,  Yohon (Autumn) Bell and Joseph Connly; sisters, Brenda Rowe and Ina Rae (Anthony) Sutton; brothers, Kenneth Sutton, Ronald (Sonya) Sutton and Gary (Shag) Sutton as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Her Life will take place on Friday, October 20 th , 11:00am at Greater Grace Temple COGIC, 522 N. Memorial Dr., Racine, WI.  The visitation will be in the church from 10:00 – 11:00am. Pastor Jerry Cornett will be officiating.  Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
