Obituary

DR. THOMAS S. BISHOP, D.D.S.

CALEDONIA (FORMERLY OF GREEN BAY) – Dr. Thomas S. Bishop, D.D.S., 85, passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center in Mount Pleasant on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Dr. Bishop was born in Waukegan, IL on August 8, 1941, the son of the late Stanley and Cleo (nee Colbert) Bishop. He was raised in Shannon, IL and attended Western Illinois University, where he met Beverly K. Leitzen of Lena, IL. The two married on August 10, 1963.

Dr. Bishop received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Western Illinois University in 1964 and his D.D.S. from the University of Michigan in 1969.

The Bishops made their home in the greater Green Bay area in 1970 and established a successful dental practice in Ashwaubenon, where Dr. Bishop proudly served the local community for over 30 years. They welcomed a daughter, Rebecca J. Bishop, in 1975.

Tom loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He also adored the many family pets over the years. In their retirement, the Bishops moved to the Racine area to be closer to family.

In addition to his loving wife, Beverly, and daughter, Rebecca, both of Caledonia, Dr. Bishop is survived by his brother, Tim G. Bishop of Oregon, IL, as well as his dear niece and nephews.

Per Dr. Bishop’s wishes, a private service was held at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory for his immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable donation to an organization close to your heart.

The Bishop family extends a special thank you to the Caledonia Fire Department and Aurora@Home for the excellent care Tom received in his final years.
