Dwight faithfully served his county in the military as a member of The United States Navy. He was employed by and retired after 35 years from American Motor Corporation(AMC)/Daimler Chrysler where he was a Forklift Driver. Dwight was united in holy matrimony to Retha M. Smith on June 19, 2019.  In his leisure time he enjoyed reading mystery stories, watching old westerns on television, listening to old school music, playing chess and occasionally a good game of dominoes.

Dwight is survived by his loving wife Retha M. (nee: Smith) Jennings of Racine, WI.; his daughter Felicia (Darrin) Jennings; sons Dwight (Aiko) Smith of Honolulu, Hawaii; Micah (Kaori) Smith of Irvine, California and Martin Smith of Racine, WI.; granddaughters, Alexis, Rashay and Shelby Jennings all of Racine, WI.; his siblings Evone (Larry) Ashley, Brenda (Anthony) Days and Willis (Annette) Wray all of Racine, WI.; brother and sisters in law Frank (Deborah) Smith of Toledo, Ohio, Mable Upchurch, Wanda Smith, Doris Smith and Hope Smith all of Racine, WI.; nephews Austin (Janice) Wray, Willis (Melinda) Wray and Quinn (Nikita) Days all of Racine, WI., as well as a host of great nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents W.C. and Juanita Wray and grandparents John and Ophelia Jennings, Dwight was preceded in death by his brothers in law Roscoe Smith and Robert McKinney.

The family of the late Dwight Jennings would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness and prayers. We’d like to give special thanks to Shalane Smith, his caregiver, his nurse Jamie from Horizon Home Care and the staff at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 11:00am in the Chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, WI.  Visitation will be in the Chapel from 10:00am until the time of service.
