Mr. Earl E. Meddaugh, 81, died at Ridgewood Care Center on Saturday, April 11, 2009. He was born in Flint, MI on August 12, 1927 to the late Earl and Mary (nee: Saitz) Meddaugh. Mr. Meddaugh served our nation with the U.S. Army from 1945 – 1947. On June 2, 1951, he married the former Dorothy Cooper in St. Edward Catholic Church, where he remained a longtime member. He retired from Ladish Co. after over 30 years of employment. In addition to his loving wife, Dorothy, his survivors include his children, Joseph (Terry) Meddaugh, Mary (John Schmit) Meddaugh, Tom (Carol) Meddaugh, Theresa (Jeff) Bankenbush, Lawrence (Josy) Meddaugh; his 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brother, Bernard (Lois) Meddaugh; sister, Barbara (Willard) Lockwood; brother-in-law, Joseph Cooper; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his mother, father and stepfather, he was also preceded in death by his daughters, Jane and Mary (infant); his sister, Gloria Thomas and brother, Frank Baril. Mr. Meddaugh's life and funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Edward Catholic Church (1425 Grove Ave.) on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. There will be a visitation in the church on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the mass. A private burial will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. His family wishes to acknowledge and thank the entire staff at Ridgewood Care Center for the attention and loving care he received these past nine years. It is truly appreciated.
