Obituary

Birmingham, AL – (Former resident of Racine, WI.) Eddie Carter III, was born on September 8, 1959 to the union of Eddie Carter II and Pearline (Dorsey) Carter in Racine, Wisconsin.  He received his formal education through Racine Unified School District and was a graduate of Horlick High School, in Racine.  Eddie accepted Christ as his personal savior and had formerly been a member of Greater Grace Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Jettie L. Cornett.

Eddie was previously united in marriage to Beverly (Austin) Carter on February 22, 1983.  In this union a blended family was developed and yet blessed with 2 additional daughters.  Marsha Carter, Mielisha Carter, step-daughter, Natalie Jackson and step-son, Nathan Gains.  Eddie was most recently united in marriage to Elizabeth (Deering) Carter, in this union no additional children were born.

Eddie was a handyman and could repair many things. His vocational training afforded him a Construction Journeyman's card.  He supported himself via sub-contracting efforts.  He also enjoyed working as Baseball Umpire and he also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Eddie Carter III departed this life on November 1, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his most recent Wife: Elizabeth (Deering) Carter, Father: Eddie Carter II, Sister: Mary D. Carter, Maternal Grandparents: Rose Lee (Dorsey) and Clarence Jefferson, Paternal Grandparents: Eddie and Rose Lee (Jefferson) Carter, Nephews: Kadeem & James Carter, Sister-in-law: Cynthia Carter.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Mother: Pearline Lowrey, Brothers: Edgar Carter, Jeffery (Kimberly) Carter, Daryl (Cassandra) Carter, Abbott (Victoria) Carter, Alfred Carter.  Sisters: Elaine Carter, Amanda Carter, Chrissy Carter & Renee Borko. Daughters: Marsha Carter, Mielisha Carter, step-children: Nathan Gains and Natalie Jackson, Grandchildren: Da'lesha Carter, Da'Niyia Cunningham, Zakariah Carter and DeJarvis Carter, Uncle: Clarence Jefferson Jr. along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 5:00pm in the chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, WI. Visitation will be in the chapel 3:00pm –  5:00pm.

Masks must be worn at all times while in the funeral home.
