Edmund A. Weaver Jr., of Kenosha, passed away at Froedtert Hospital- Milwaukee, on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, with his family gathered around him. He was born in Tiffin, OH on October 21, 1938, the son of the late Edmund A. and Emma (nee: Keller) Weaver Sr.

On December 30, 1961, he was united in marriage to Frances Arnold, who preceded him in death on October 25, 2013. Edmund was a graduate of Carey High School Class of '57, and Ohio State University Class of '61, where he received his BA in Industrial Design. Edmund came to reside in Racine after he accepted a job from S C Johnson Wax. While there, he worked in the international Research and Design Department. He loved to travel for work and got to explore many cultures on his travels around the world. Edmund then accepted a job at Kraft Foods in Glenview IL, in their packaging design department. Edmund was a very creative thinker and had many patents in his name. He and Fran moved to Oshkosh to continue her involvement in the Visitors bureau there. After their few years in Oshkosh, they moved to the Kenosha area to be with their daughter and her family. He enjoyed his time with his granddaughters Bailey and Erin.  They loved taking drawing lessons from him and building gingerbread houses at Christmas.

Edmund was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, the Ohio State Alumni Association, Toastmasters International.  Ed also served as a Mediator with The Kenosha County Aging & Disability Resource Center and an Ombudsman for the Board on Aging and Long-Term Care.  His service was honored by being selected as the 2009 recipient of the Louise Abrahams Yaffe Volunteer Ombudsman Program Award

Edmund's passion for education combined with his industrial design background came together perfectly through his many years as the "Book Doctor" for many local schools, extending the life of countless books for generations to come.

Surviving are his children, Michael (Carolyn) Weaver, of Chicago, IL, and Kristen (Donald) Hyatt Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, WI; four granddaughters, Samantha Weaver, of Burbank, IL, Alexandra Weaver, of Mountain Home, AR, Bailey Hyatt, and Erin Hyatt, both of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Marion (Virginia) Weaver, of Tiffin, OH, Thomas (Rosalie "Dolly") Weaver, of Carey, OH, three sisters, Madonna (Joseph) Meeker, of Upper Sandusky, OH, Therese Westphal, of Roswell, Georgia, and Regina Brinson, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Kathleen (Don) Oliver, Elizabeth Weaver, Allen (Stephanie) Weaver, Lisa (Mike) Duco, Todd Weaver, Michael (Tammy) Meeker, Michelle (Brian Rosen) Meeker, Marc (Marcy) Meeker, Kevin Westphal, Brian (Angela) Westphal, Bonnie (Forest) Graver, and Jennifer (Leonard) Luikart; sister-in-law Toni Theisen, of Ft. Collins, CO. In addition to his beloved wife and parents Edmund was preceded in death by his brother, Karl Weaver; and brother-in-law, Vonice Brinson.

Service Details

His memorial service will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 11:00 A.M.  Visitation  will be in in the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
