RACINE – Mr. Edward J. Kanyuh, 79, died at All Saints St. Mary's Medical Center on Wednesday, June 21, 2006. He was born in Racine on February 15, 1927 to the late Edward and Myrtle (nee: Harvey) Kanyuh. On April 20, 1947, he married Lois Witynski. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1988. On September 10, 1988, he married Mary Kay (nee: Malmberg) Boyer. He attended St. Rita's Catholic Church. Edward served his country with the US Coast Guard from 1944-46, proudly serving on the USS Admiral H.T. Mayo. A man of many trades, he last worked at Webster Electric. Edward was a handyman who enjoyed woodworking and small engine repair. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. In addition to his loving wife, Mary of Racine, his survivors include his children, Linda (Adrian) Primmer of Kenosha, Gail (Herbert) Katt, Kathy (Tony) Ellingson both of Racine, Shawn (Jodi) Boyer, Kenneth (Tammi) Boyer both of Waterford, Kenneth Kanyuh of Kenosha, Edward Kanyuh, III of Fond du Lac; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Myron (Teri) Kanyuh, Sr. of Arkansas; sister, Rita (Wayne) Hejny of Racine and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. for the celebration of Edward's life with Fr. Alvin Metzger, O.S.A. officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Friday from 12-1 p.m. Edward's family is eternally grateful for the excellent care he received during his short stay in ICU at St. Mary's. They wish to direct all memorials to the ICU in order to ensure future families the same quality care that Edward and their family received.
