Edward Michael
Szklarski, Sr.
Dec 14, 1950 — Nov 26, 2018
Edward M. Szklarski, Sr., 67, of Kenosha, WI, died peacefully on November 26, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chicago, IL on December 14, 1950, to Michael and Louise (Mucha) Szklarski. He grew up in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago, IL. Edward attended Fenger High School. He was married to Therese (Harper) Szklarski on June 07, 1979, who proceeded him in death in 2001. Together they raised two sons, Michael (Amber) and Edward Szklarski, Jr.
Edward worked many years as a steelworker at Amforge Corporation in Chicago, IL, before transferring to Johnson City, TN, to work at Eastman Kodak. He was an avid fisherman, a passion he passed down to his sons and grandsons. Edward was a sports enthusiast, a diehard Chicago Bear and Chicago Cubs fan, but also loved cheering on Norte Dame each football season. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, whether cooking and teaching his sons his famous polish sausage recipe or spending time spoiling his grandchildren, you would always see a smile on his face. Edwards smile will be what his family will remember the most.
He was survived by his children; grandchildren, Dane, Reid and Harper Szklarski; sisters, Irene (Keith) Schultz, Jean (John) Shannon; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Assumption Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum in Glenwood, IL.
