Obituary

Racine – Eleanor Rose (nee: Hayes) Rogers, 64, passed away at home on Thursday, September 8, 2016. She was born in Alamo, Tennessee on December 29, 1951 to the late Robert and Rose Marie (nee: Anthony) Hayes.

Eleanor was employed at Beckart Environmental, Inc. as a CAD Drafter for over 20 years. Eleanor was also a well-known Blues singer "Miz El", and worked closely with Charles "Delta Blues Hog" Hayes & the Kuul Blues Band.

Surviving are her children, James (Sherry) Rogers Jr. of Clearwater, Florida, Jerald (Elizabeth) Rogers, Corey (April) Kyle, and Alena Rogers all of Racine; and six beloved grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Ruth (Willie) Riley, Dorothy Hayes, Ida Hayes-Murphy, Kathleen (Vincent) Borner all of Racine, and Mattie Hayes-Williams of Sauk Village, Illinois; her brothers, Robert A. (Frozene) Hayes of Kenosha and Jeffrey (Carolyn) Hayes of Arlington, Texas; as well as a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Eleanor will be held in the funeral home on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 1:30 pm led by Pastor Prentiss Robbins. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm. A private interment at Graceland Cemetery will be held on a later date.
