Elisabeth "Betty" Klingenmeyer, formerly of Racine, passed away in Schofield, Wisconsin on Monday, August 4, 2009 at the age of 91. She was born in Memmingen, Germany on July 4, 1918, the daughter of the late Ernst and Elisabeth (nee: Sibbach) Linse. Betty moved to Racine with her family at an early age, and graduated from Washington Park High School. On June 14, 1941 she was married at First Evangelical Lutheran Church to Walter Klingenmeyer. Betty was a proficient bookkeeper. She worked at Mohr-Jones Hardware and for United Automatic Products until she retired in 1981. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, golf and crafts. She also loved gardening and spending time at her summer home at Presque Isle Lake. Betty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mike Loomis of Schofield and daughter-in-law Maggie Klingenmeyer Ihde of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Joe (Delores) Klingenmeyer of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, John (Jeanne) Klingenmeyer of Ada Michigan, Amy (Joe) Iverson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Heidi (Warren) Giese, Lori (Matthew) Rowe, and Brian (Tracy) Loomis all of Wausau; great-grandchildren Kelsey, Taylor, Ryan, Linse, Anna, Hannah, Maddie, Zachary, Ashley, Courtney, Logan, Jozie, Kate and Lyvia; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Klingenmeyer and Mary Danoski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and her son, Ralph Klingenmeyer. Funeral services for Betty will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009 with Rev. Thomas Chryst officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 12 noon.
