Elizabeth "Bette" Pinkert (née Frederick), 99, passed away peacefully at Home Inspired Senior Living, Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sunday, September 19, 2021. Bette was born January 13, 1922 in Conrath, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Anna (née Oster) Frederick. Bette and her family moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin where she attended Kenosha Public schools. Before she married, she worked at American Motors as a secretary in the Engineering Department. On December 15, 1945, she married the late William "Bill" George Pinkert, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. In 1950, they built their forever home where they raised their three children. They were married for 38 years. Having grown up during the trials of the Great Depression and World War II, she learned to be a strong and independent woman. During her married life, she was dedicated to managing the household and rearing her children. She took pleasure in tending her beautiful flower garden, cooking, baking, knitting, and sewing. Bette looked forward to playing Pinochle with friends. Together, Bette and Bill enjoyed spending time at their vacation home near Adams, Wisconsin. Later in life, she traveled and loved spending time with her family, especially during holidays. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children Nancella "Nan" (Larry) Smalley and Ronald "Ron" (Mary) Pinkert; grandchildren Angela Smalley and Kelli (Tony) Crouse; great-grandchild Silas Crouse, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Bette was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 1983; her daughter, Jan Marie (the late Donald) Grover in 2015; her parents; and her sister, Annabelle (the late Eugene) Malsack. She was a vital and energetic person, but eventually suffered the debilitating disease of Alzheimers. She lived almost a century, short by just four months. The family suggests memorials be made to the Wisconsin Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. A private family service was held at the Draeger Langendorf Funeral Home Thursday, September 23, 2021, with internment at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Kenosha, Wisconsin.
