Emerito "Chris" Benish, age 52, passed away on December 22, 2025, battling with cancer. Chris was born in Racine, Wisconsin, to Emerito Cartagena and Diane Benish. Chris married Marissa (Aldridge) Benish of Salem, Wisconsin, on May 19, 2024.

Surviving are his wife, Marissa Benish; daughters, Crystal Benish, Christina Benish and Kayla Benish; sons, Christian Benish and Logan Ashlin. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Benish and father, Emerito Cartagena.

He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and someone whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He loved playing poker with family and friends, where laughter, stories, and friendly competition filled the room. Some of his happiest moments were spent taking trips to Wisconsin Dells and camping, where Chris and family enjoyed the outdoors and making memories that will be treasured forever. Above all, he loved his family deeply. His strength, guidance, and love will continue to live on through those he leaves behind. Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness will never be forgotten.

A Time of Remembrance and a Memorial Gathering for Emerito "Chris" Benish will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM.
