Kenosha – Erik Andersen, 67, passed away at Harbor House North on Saturday, August 16, 2008. He was born in Rødovre, Denmark on January 28, 1941, son of the late Svend-Erik Andersen and Else Nielsen. He was united in marriage to Vita Mikkelsen on December 16, 1967 in Hårlev, Denmark. Mr. Andersen dutifully served in the Danish army, and attained the rank of Premier Lieutenant. He had been a Kenosha resident since 2005. In 1982, Mr. Andersen and his family moved to Vernon Hills, Illinois, where he took an engineering position with the Corpak Corporation. When he retired in 2001 he was the VP of product development and held 23 patents for his work with medical and surgical devices. He was a man of many talents; he spoke seven languages, and was an accomplished abstract painter. He enjoyed playing racketball and many other sports, singing, dancing with his wife, and being with his family and friends. He is survived by his dear wife, Vita Andersen of Kenosha; and their children, Lars (Margaret)Andersen of Palatine, Illinois, and Majbritt (Marc) Stewart of Racine; grandsons, Carsten and Jake Andersen; granddaughters, Danika and Devin Stewart; his relatives in Denmark; and many friends in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Denmark. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 5-7:30 p.m. A private service will follow at 8 p.m.
