Mrs. Erna Laura Johnson (BECKER), age 94, of Racine, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on November 29, 2022.

Erna was born January 4, 1928, in Athens, Marathon County, Wisconsin, on the beautiful Becker family farm located in Athens, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Carl and Freida (Münchow) Becker and granddaughter of Wilhelm and Wilhelmina (JOHLKE) Becker.

She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  Erna was employed by American Motors for 37 years, retiring in 1988.  Mama loved traveling with friends, visiting family from Florida to Idaho, enjoyed taking beautiful photographs and sharing these with families and friends.  She loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and was an excellent baker, making all types of delicacies for her family's enjoyment and at one time was called the "cookie lady" by friends and acquaintances.  Her second love was gardening.  Her yard was filled with roses, daffodils, pansy's, hyacinth flowers in every color and plants decorated her yard and was always a show place. Later in life Mama enjoyed making dream catchers, playing bingo, doing word finds and talking with family and friends.

Erna is survived by two daughters, Debra (Kenneth J) Evans, Lisa M. Johnson, son, Marc (Maricella Maldonado) Johnson, Racine, grandchildren Alana J Riley, Racine, Taylor (Schanne) Cade, Atlanta, GA, Danielle L. Allen, Saint Petersburg, Florida, Veronica Cameron, Racine, Anthony J. Johnson, Derryle L. Allen, Ethan and Eli Reed, Racine. Erna is further survived by her great-grandchildren Kailen Riley, Racine and Khaleel Riley (Arttia Carodine), Tempe, Arizona, Christian L. Webb, United Kingdom, great-grandchildren Analayah and Averyon Allen, Jasmine M. Johnson, Serrina Lynn Turner, Dallys I. Jones, Novani M. Johnson, Amais A. Algarin, Racine, DeMario, DeCari, Dakota Reynolds, Racine, Quest and Mars Cade, Atlanta, GA, great great-grandchildren Kyrie Harris and Nala Riley-Frode, Racine.

Mama also leaves many friends who will sadly miss her and extended family who will never know and appreciate her.

Erna is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Nathaniel C. Johnson, parents Carl and Frieda Becker, two beloved sons Curtis N. Johnson and Charles Brown Jr. and her brothers Hugo, Lenard, Lorenz, Carl Becker and sister Wilhelmina Baker.

Funeral services will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home & Crematory,4600 County Line Rd, Mt Pleasant, WI 53403 on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Visitation begins on Thursday at 4:00 pm and Memorial service begins at 5:00 pm.
