Ethel Mae
Korntved
May 6, 1947 — Aug 1, 2012
Sturtevant – Ethel M. Korntved, 65, passed away at WFH All Saints hospital on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 following a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Sturgeon Bay on May 6, 1947, daughter of the late George and Bessie (nee: Wilson) Peterson, but had lived in the Racine area for most of her life. On July 23, 1966, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Caledonia, she was united in marriage to John M. Korntved. Mr. Korntved preceded her in death on June 26, 2010.
Ethel was employed by Envirotest for 15 years where she was the lead registration clerk at the DMV emission testing station in Racine. Ethel's first priority was her family. She was a good mom who always gave sound advice, and was easy to talk to about whatever troubled you. She was a doting grandmother and was so proud of her grandsons. She enjoyed watching the Packers play, and relished the times when family and friends gathered together for the game. She was an active and faithful member of Epiphany Lutheran Church.
Ethel is survived by her children, Michael Korntved of Menasha, and Tracee (Dennis) Olsen of Sturtevant; grandsons, MA3 Derek Olsen, USN of Kings Bay, Georgia, and Brian Olsen of Sturtevant; brothers, Don (Patty) Peterson, Clarence (Erin) Peterson, Stanley Peterson all of Sturgeon Bay, Allan Peterson and Bill Peterson both of Sturtevant; sister, Pauline (Paul) Peterson of Egg Harbor; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ethel's presence will also be missed by her four-legged friends, "Diva", "Montana", and "Beanie". She was also preceded in death by her brother, Stanton Peterson; her sisters Mary Ardith, Elaine, and Marion Kay Peterson; and sister-in-law, Sandy Peterson.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 with Rev. Michael Zarling officiating. All are invited to visit the family in the funeral home from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Health Well Foundation .
Many thanks and appreciations are extended to the always professional and caring staff at WFH All Saints hospital for their kindness and genuine concern for Ethel and her family.
