Florine Cark (nee: Beard), 84, was called home by her Heavenly Father on February 26, 2024.
Florine was born to McKinley Wray and Cassie Beard on November 24, 1939 in New Albany MS. Florine accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age. Florine relocated her family along with her mother to Racine in January 1960. Florine was employed for over 40 years as a Domestic Homemaker for various private residences. She enjoyed spending her time with family, cooking, watching WNBA basketball, and giving all the Glory to the Lord.
Florine leaves to cherish her memories, brothers Charlie (Ruby) Wray of Cordova TN and Joe Wray of Kenosha; sisters O.T. Freeman of Racine and Ida Lee Lowe of Orlando FL; sisters-in-law Ada Wray, Shirlei Wray, Mary Nesbitt and Geneva Nesbitt; children Arthur Lee, Larry (fiancé Wendie Vogelman) Cark, Flora Atterberry all of Racine, and Annette Thomas (Tommy Dozier) of New Albany MS; bonus son, Randolph Phillips; grandchildren Sergio Ratliff, Sonjia (Mickey) Bowlin, Jermaine (Katrina) Cark, Joshua Cark, Jessica (Maurice) Thomas, Deontra (Rita) Thomas, Devontra Thomas, Desmond Thomas, Dominique Thomas, Ashley Thomas, Jahliyah Wilson, Tyra Jones-Atterberry, Deischa (Rick) Dalton, Ardrell Young, and Easker (Jeanette) Buckley; 42 great-grandchildren (1 great grandchild on the way); 18 great-great grandchildren (2 great-great grandchildren on the way); and many other relatives and friends.
Florine was preceded in death by her parents McKinley and Cassie; brothers Benazet, James, Ozark, and Hubert Nesbitt, Lester, Otis, WC, and Roger Wray; sisters Lucille Wray and Isabella Mosley; brothers-in-law Finest Freeman Jr., Eurizie Mosley; sons-in-law Glenn Thomas and Willie Atterberry; sisters-in-law Juanita Wray, Bessie Wray and Hazel Nesbitt; daughter-in-law Phyllis Cark; infant daughter Kelly Fae Beard; and great-grandson Christian Cecil-Bowlin, and great-granddaughter, Brittany Johnson.
Family and friends are invited to meet at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, for a visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. A service celebrating her life and Homegoing will take place at 11:00 am with Pastor T.L. Howell officiating. Her interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
