Waupaca (formerly of Racine)- Frances Pauline (nee: Shoop) Kolonick, 91, passed away at the Bethany Home in Waupaca on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Frances was born in Racine on March 22, 1917 to the late Sylvester and Veronica (nee: //Ropel) Shoop. On August 31, 1935 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Walter G. Kolonick, Sr. Fran was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. So very proud of her Polish heritage, she was also a member of the Polish League. Among her interests, she enjoyed playing cards and singing. A kid at heart, Fran excitingly drove a '80 Camaro on her 65th Birthday. A devoted and tireless homemaker, Frances proudly earned her high school diploma at age 60. Above all, without a doubt, her family was her greatest joy in life. Surviving are her sons, Walter G. Kolonick, Jr. of Waupaca; Edmond Kolonick of Winter; and Donald Kolonick of Union Grove; grandchildren, Lisa Lehr, Mary (George) Wadsworth, James (Julie) Kolonick, Jennifer (Stephen) Podesta, Edward Chase and Diane (Rusty) Rowlands; 9 great-grandchildren; Joshua (Theresa) Beranis, Rosie Beranis, Timothy (Katie) Kolonick, Daniel (Rebecca) Kolonick, Katelyn Kolonick, Theodore Lehr, Owen Rowlands, Mason Rowlands, and Elise Chase; very special close family friends, Kathy Rodeck, June Kolonick, Sue Norman, Kelly Chase and Gloria Aiello; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeffrey Kolonick; and brothers, Stanley and Edmond Shoop. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2008 in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., at 10:00 am with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9-10 am. In memory of Frances, memorials may be directed to the Bethany Nursing Home Foundation, 1226 Berlin St, Waupaca, WI 54981
