Frank Leonzio Pellizzari, 92, passed away at Ascension-All Saints on Saturday, October 17, 2020. He was born in Chicago, IL on January 13, 1928, the son of the late Pietro and Maria (nee: Cantieri) Pellizzari.

On June 4, 1955, in the Church of the Holy Ghost, Wood Dale, IL, he was united in marriage to Bettyanne Mydill. Frank was a Senior Project Engineer for Walker Manufacturing. He was a man of great faith and strong conviction, deeply rooted in his Christian values. He loved the Lord with all his heart. His words were always kind-hearted, he was a positive thinker, and shared a loving smile and hug with everyone he met.

Frank was a patient listener and loved spending time visiting with his family. He built a wonderful life alongside his beloved wife, Bettyanne, whom he deeply cherished. He will be remembered as a great storyteller, whether sharing family history or stories of his boyhood, often ending with a chuckle and a shake of his head at the memories. He held on to keepsakes and mementos, finding importance in even the smallest of things. He never let anything go to waste, and was a fixer and a problem solver, with a sharp mind for numbers and figuring.

Frank was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where he sang in the funeral choir and was a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the S.M.E, and the Racine Dairy Statesmen. He spent much of his time volunteering through his church with his wife. Together they visited Ridgewood Care Center to share Mass with the residents. They also served at the food pantry and soup kitchen in Racine.

Frank was a master wood carver with a beautifully artistic and creative eye. He enjoyed fishing, and with his family, went on excursions to Canada. His heart was full of song, and his family will treasure the memories of his voice singing for any occasion; for comfort, to celebrate, or for a laugh or smile.

Surviving are his devoted wife and best friend, Bettyanne; their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Anne (Chuck) Jacobson, of Milton, WI; their children, Shelley (Nick) Venable; their children, Thomas, Weston, and Tenley; Lane (Jeremy) Luckey, their children, Court and Anderly; Claire (Adam) Scott, their children, Charli-Ann, and Ruth; Jill (Jim) Zongolowicz of Racine, their children, Karla (Leo) Sullivan, Stacie (Mike) Ramos, their children, Jillian and Theo; Lynn (Ed) Morelli, of Mt. Pleasant, their children, Frank (Alyssa) Morelli, their children, Audrey and Rocco; Vince Morelli, Mario (Ellie) Morelli, their children, Arlo, and a new baby to be born shortly, Dominic (Whitney) Morelli, their children, Gracie and Anna; Thomas (Janet) Pellizzari, of Union Grove, their children, Reid and Taylor; sister-in-law, Mary Pellizzari, of Champaign, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Maria Morelli, great grandson, Grayson Venable, and two brothers, Peter (Blanche) Pellizzari, and William Pellizzari.

Service Details

Due to the Pandemic there will be a PRIVATE FAMILY Mass of Christian Burial held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. The family has suggested memorials can be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriners Hospital for Children-Chicago, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave. Chicago, IL 60707. The family wishes to thank Dr. Howard Short, and Dr. Desiree Dizadji, as well as his nurse, Carey, for the loving care and compassion they gave Frank and his family. The Mass will be live streamed on the Facebook page of St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Racine, on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 10:30 A.M.
