Mr. Frank G. Phillips, Sr., 99, passed away at WFH- All Saints on Tuesday, March 22, 2011.
He was born in Chicago on October 24, 1911, the son of Santo and Mary (nee: DeLuca) Phillips.
Mr. Phillips worked as a tool and die maker at JI Case for over 47 years. He was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and a founding member of Roma Hall. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports on television but mostly looked forward to going out to eat with his family; especially Saturday nights at Buona Vita after 4:00 p.m. mass at St. Lucy.
He is survived by his children, Frank Phillips, Jr., Karen (Dennis) Stone both of Racine; grandchildren, Kathy (Brian) Walden of Nekoosa, WI, Scott Phillips, Jodi Phillips, Allen Phillips, Frank Phillips III, Ryan Phillips, Adam Phillips, Tammy Broude, Lisa Broude all of Racine, Kathryn (Craig) Parsons of Madison; great grandchildren, Jace, Gregory, Jim, Jackie, Miranda, Kyle and Rowan; great-great grandchildren, Dylan and Lucas; his sister, Edith DeRose of Racine; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen (nee: Giannini) Phillips; his second wife, Veronica (nee: Nelson) Phillips; his brothers and sisters, John (Marion) Phillips, Peter (Josephine) Phillips, Helen (Louis) Fucilla, Emily (Casper) Menes and brother-in-law, Louis DeRose.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. for the celebration of his life and funeral mass with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. His interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia. There will be a visitation in the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m.
A very special thank you to Wheaton Franciscan Hospice, especially his nurse, Lori, for the loving attention she provided Frank while under hospice care.
