I just learned of Gary’s untimely passing. We were schoolmates since the 6th grade. He was always bright, and had a fun side to him. We re-connected when he was working with a special unit of the Sheriff’s Dept & I was a County Social Worker. He was great to work with & respectful to all. My sympathies to his family & his “family” at the Sheriff’s Dept. Gary, may you rest in peace.

I could write a long story about my friend Gage, GT Gran Touring Gage, Gary. A best friend in High School (J.I. Case, class of 71). After long years in the US Army, we became friends again and we had several great visits out here in Northern Virginia. I am proud to call Deputy Gage my friend. I’m proud of his faithful service to Racine County. I will miss my old friend Gary. To Gloria, Gary’s parents, Tobin, Lisa, and Timmy, Gary’s children and grandchildren, I’m so very sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I hope to see you all at the funeral service. Yours in Christ,
Scott Russell

With Gary’s wry sense of humor, when he was complemented for the amazing breakfasts he would make, he would laugh and say that would be the perfect epitaph for him. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

I first met Gary when I joined the security force at Waxdale 36 years ago. We became fast friends. We stayed in touch all these years, visiting when we could. I’ll miss that “Gage Grin”, his laugh, and his love of life.

Gary will be missed terribly. I always talk about how he scared me out of staying out past cerfew as a teenager visiting family and friends in Union Grove. That’s just one of many wonderful stories I have of him (although most come from my Dad…) He was just amazing and will be missed by so many!
