Genevieve Rangel

Service Details

Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, February 2nd, at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Manuel Lozano officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Family and friends are invited to meet at the funeral home on Friday, February 3rd, at 9:00 a.m. to process to Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32 for her burial.

Genevieve Rangel, 90, passed away at her residence Saturday, January 28, 2017, with her family at her side. She was born in San Antonio, TX on November 12, 1926 the daughter of the late Frank and Sulema (nee: Guzman) Diaz.

On January 10, 1944, in San Antonio, she was united in marriage to Antonio Rangel, who preceded her in death on August 16, 1998. The Rangels moved to Racine in1949. Mrs. Rangel had been employed by St. Luke’s Hospital for over 16 years retiring in 1983. She was a former member of Word of Faith Church.

Surviving are her children, Antonio (Donna) Rangel, Carlos Rangel, Alex Rangel, Mary Carmen Rangel, Bertha (Frank) Sanchez, Gloria (Carl) Orta, all of Racine; 21 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren ; sister, Yolanda Guitterez. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mrs. Rangel was preceded in death by three sons, David, Gilbert, and Armando Rangel and numerous brothers and sisters.
