George Shaw

Apr 4, 1944 – Oct 2, 2008

Mr. George Shaw, 64, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha on Thursday, October 2, 2008. He was born on April 4, 1944 in Shelby, MS to the late Percy and Luevenia Shaw, Sr. Mr. Shaw retired from J.I. Case with more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Dominion Church of God. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Nellie Shaw of Racine; children, Yolanda, Gail, and Valerie Shaw of Milwaukee, Joyce Payno of Michigan, Johnnie (Daphenia) Conley of Racine, Phyllis Carter of Milwaukee, Sharon (Keith Saunders) Martin, Robert (Shonda) Carter both of Minnesota, Landra Carter of Racine and Jimmy (Kathy) Carter of Virginia; his sisters, Ann Shaw Perkins of Little Rock, Arkansas, Emma Conner of Chicago, Illinois, and Inez Shaw of Milwaukee; 1 brother, Allen Shaw of Memphis; brother-in-law, John (Mary) Judon of Racine; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Martin of Racine; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Henry and Percy Shaw; his sisters, Mary J. Criss, Rosie L. Broom, Luevenia Marsh, Ruthie Shaw, and Martha Shaw; brother-in-law, Ezekiel Judon and his daughter, Shirley Carter. His life and Homegoing will be celebrated at Dominion Church of God (402 9th St) on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at noon with Rev. Kelvin Weatherspoon officiating. There will be a visitation in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. and again at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 am until noon. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. A very special thank you to the entire staff at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha for the loving care George and his family received during his illness.
