Gerald Kapis

Oct 13, 1933 – Jan 2, 2026

Gerald Kapis, age 92, passed away peacefully yet unexpectedly on January 2, 2026, at Killarney Kourt in Sturtevant, WI.

Gerald was born on October 13, 1933, in the suburbs of Illinois. He graduated from college and later honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. His military service remained meaningful to him throughout his life, and he faithfully supported various veteran organizations over the years.

He spent more than twelve years working as a phone line technician at AT&T, a role that reflected his steady and dependable nature. Over the course of his life, Gerald lived in Racine, Wisconsin; Phoenix, Arizona; and Bolingbrook, Illinois.

On October 13, 1983, he married Margaret Kapis. Together they shared many years of companionship. Gerald was a father to three daughters and one son and a stepfather to Dawn, Joy, and Donald. He was also a step-grandfather to Javi, Rose, and Tatiana.

Gerald was a man of Roman Catholic faith and lived as a brother of that faith. Quiet and reserved by nature, he valued a simple life.

At this time, no services will be held.

Testimonials

Thank you. When my

Thank you.
When my father and I would talk about his wishes for when he would leave this world, he always asked me who I would trust to treat his body with respect and dignity.
Always, without hesitation, I would respond with saying “Draeger”.
From someone who works in end of life care, I have witnessed the respect and dignity first hand for many years.
It was a pleasure working with Carly and having the reassurance that my father was in good hands <3
You all are truly a blessing!
Thank you.
