Glenn J. Pelish, husband, father, brother, and friend to many, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Glenn fought a lengthy illness with courage and strength, looking forward to tomorrow, while being sure to make the most of each day. His final wish was to die at home, and his family made that happen for him, surrounding him with peace, comfort, and the knowledge that he was very much loved.

Glenn was born on August 18, 1953, in Port Jefferson, New York, to Walter J. Pelish and Rebecca E. Winans. He grew up and lived on Long Island, New York. Dominican College brought Glenn to Racine, and he attended school there until its closure. After finishing his education with Bachelor of Arts degree from Dowling College in Long Island, New York, Glenn moved back to Racine, where he first worked for many years as display manager for Porter Furniture Company. After that Glenn shifted gears and worked as a cell manager for Goodwill Industries for twenty years. Glenn's final employment saw him as store manager for Milaeger's in Sturtevant until illness forced him to retire. While working at Porter's Glenn met the love of his life, Linda Kawa. They married on May 15,1982, and recently were able to celebrate their 42 ^nd wedding anniversary. Glenn and Linda were blessed with a son, Mitchell James Pelish. Mitchell was their world, and they cherished and enjoyed every minute of watching and guiding him growing up.

Glenn was a gifted and gentle man, kind of heart and strong of spirit. Glenn was always willing to help, using his quick thinking to solve a problem at hand. His keen sense of humor and quick smile would brighten up anyone's day. Glenn's artistic side brought beauty and joy to those around him, whether it be in his beautiful holiday decorating or eye-popping gardening. Glenn had the ability to take nothing and turn it into something, always leaving things better off than he found them. Glenn had a passion for cutting grass; always making sure his lawn was immaculate. Those lucky enough to have Glenn cut their lawns saw the same precision. Glenn and Linda enjoyed the park-like tranquility of their backyard, always content to spend their time swimming, sitting on the deck, or gardening. Cribbage games were known to happen there also, as Glenn was a masterful cribbage player. Glenn and Linda didn't feel the need to travel much, as they had it all at home.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Linda; son Mitchell and Mitchell's fiancé, Carly Seefeldt. Also surviving Glenn are his brother, David (Lori Lupe); nephews Rainer Pelish and Landon Pelish; sister-in-law, Karen Kawa Doonan (William Doonan); nephew, Kevin Doonan; and very special auntie, Theresa Kawa. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Pelish and Rebecca Behrendt, and in-laws, Stanley and Elsie Kawa.

A Memorial Service celebrating Glenn's life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 6:00PM. Memorial visitation will be in the funeral home from 4:00PM until the time of service.
