Thomas
Jul 23, 1961 — Apr 18, 2019
Racine-Glenn "BB" Thomas, age 57, passed away peacefully at his residence in Racine, Wisconsin on Thursday, April 18, 2019. He was born in Minter City, Mississippi on July 23, 1961 to Matthew and Margie (nee: Perkins) Thomas Sr.
BB became a resident of Racine, WI at the young age of 7. He graduated from Washington Park High School in 1979 and furthered his education at Gateway Technical College in Racine.
On April 9, 1983 in Racine, WI. "BB" was united in marriage to the love of his life, Annette Cark. Four days later he enlisted in the United States Army and was sent to Newark, New Jersey to begin his "Boot Camp" and ATI training. After successful completion in September of 1983, "BB" was deployed overseas to the Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany where he resided for 2 years. In 1985 he returned to the states and was reunited with his family at the Fort Benning Army Base in Columbus, Georgia where he served 4 years. In 1989 he was honorably discharged from the US Army. This separation from the US Military brought "BB" back home to his residence in Racine, WI., where at this time he began his employment as a truck driver for the Pepsi Co. After his leave from Pepsi, he went on to become a docking supervisor for Consolidated Freightways (CCX). Unfortunately, in May of 2004, "BB" parted ways with his wife of twenty-one years, but the two remained best friends until his death. This change led "BB" to return back to his love of OTR driving until his retirement in 2013 from AM/PM (Edis) Trucking Co.
"BB's" life was filled with love and laughter for all he knew. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; family gatherings, cookouts and exciting drives with his grandchildren, who dearly loved their "Paw Paw BB". Among many of his interests, "BB" loved working on vehicles, joking with loved ones, and watching westerns. Above all, "BB's" greatest passion was to become a karaoke superstar, where he toured karaoke bars throughout the city of Racine, later to become known as the "Karaoke King."
He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Matthew Thomas Sr.; his ex-wife and best friend, Annette Thomas; loving children, Deontra (Rita) Thomas, Devontra Thomas, Desmond (Erin Weitkum) Thomas and Dominique Thomas, all of Racine, Ashley (Elijua Smith) Thomas of New Albany, MS., and Jahliyah Wilson of Raleigh, NC.; admiring grandchildren, Devontra, Davion, Shyla, Adrianna, and Kamryn Thomas, Isaiah Hoyt, Acelynn Vargas, Elijua, Akeira and Jaylen Smith, all of Racine; sisters, Nancy (James) McDougal, Viola (Ira Griffin) Jennings both of Racine, WI.; brothers, Elder Jimmy (Yolanda) Thomas of Randallstown, MD., and Kent Thomas, all of Racine, WI; and his special nephew, Lakentric Thomas.
"BB" is further survived by his best friends, Troy Collier and Larry Cark; additional special friends dear to his heart, Florine Cark, Christine Bell, Rosemarie Brock, Johnny Ray Ward,Arthur Lee Cark and Flora (Willie) Atterberry and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other close relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name.
