Glenn A. Zieman, 82, passed away at All Saints Hospital on Friday, January 16, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born Lake Forest, Illinois on November 15, 1932, son of the late Herman and Edith (nee: Jackson) Zieman. After graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1955, Glenn moved to Racine to work at Modine Manufacturing.  In 1956, Glenn was drafted into the US Army and served for 2 years with honor.  On October 4, 1958, he was married to Rita Belcher at the Church of St. Mary in Lake Forest.

Glenn enjoyed a successful and lengthy career as a mechanical engineer, retiring from the Chrysler Corporation in 1989, and also taught physics as an adjunct professor at Gateway Technical College.  He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, enjoyed working in his yard, taking family vacations and road trips to nowhere.  He enjoyed being on his computer, and made many on-line friends as a result.  Glenn was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Rita Zieman of Racine; their children, Kathryn Zieman of N. Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Ann (Michael) Richow, Carolyn Zieman, Patricia (Ronald) Luttrell, all of Racine, and Stephen (Karen) Zieman of Kenosha; grandchildren, Sarah (Christopher) Stein, Emily Richow, Krista Richow, and Connor Zieman; and great-grandson, Brayden Modrow.  His sister, Janet Persson of Grayslake, Illinois and many other relatives and friends further survive him.  His brother-in-law, James Persson, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating.  Public visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Donations to the National Kidney Foundation in Glenn's memory have been suggested.

The family would like to thank the staff of the emergency room and the ICU for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
