Today, we had a memorial where Greg lives. A lot of people knew him as Greg and also as his nickname Jock. Everyone is shocked and very saddened to learn of his passing. As people eulogized him, there were countless stories of how he helped people who needed it. He also found furniture for his neighbors who needed it when they moved into McMynn Towers. He helped countless people move things, myself included. He had his own moving cart just for that purpose.. He was up at the crack of dawn helping to keep the building clean. He took pride in this and many people loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed. Especially for his well known generosity, his going out of his way to help people. Sending prayers and deepest condolences to Greg/ Jock’s family and friends. I know he is resting in peace. That is the way he was.

As a teenager, I met Jock through my brother Odell. He was always very cordial and brotherly. Jock had a warm and inviting spirit. When I saw his obituary, I couldn’t believe that he was gone. My heartfelt prayers and condolences to the family of Jock. He will be missed. He was a good man. I never knew him as Greg; he was always Jock to me.

Testimonials

October 9, 2020

I would like to thank Mike Langendorf, Bill Althaus and the rest of the staff for the wonderful celebration of the life for my father Raymond L. Szymanski who was a WWII veteran. I especially appreciate how much you really listen and the questions you asked regarding who my father was and what he was all about. Those details showed up in every part of the service from the flowers, the music, the thank you’s, pictures, obituary, outdoor military honors, etc. etc. My father would have been so grateful for the way you honored his life. I also received phone calls from family and friends indicating how beautiful the service was in every way. You and your staff definitely go above and beyond. You treat everyone like family and your compassion is so genuine. There should be more people in the world just like all of you. No words can express our gratitude for all you have done for myself, my father and our family. Thank you so very much and may the Lord bless you and yours! Sincerely Terri Carls and the Szymanski Family
