Guy Jacobs

Jan 13, 1952 – Dec 15, 2014

Racine – Guy Russell Jacobs, age 62; passed away unexpectedly in the rescue squad on the way to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center on Monday, December 15, 2014 after experiencing a stroke at his home.

Guy was born in Kenosha on January 13, 1952. He attended Mitchell Elementary, Mitchell Middle and Washington Park High. Shortly after, he met a beautiful young woman by the name of Carol Ann Theres. Six months later they were engaged….. and on September 14, 1974 in St. Joseph Catholic Church- Racine they were united in marriage. They just celebrated their 40th Anniversary of “true love” by visiting Walt Disney World this past October.

Guy was employed as a set-up specialist / inspector at E.C. Styberg Engineering for 37 ½ years – retiring in 2013. Among his interests, he enjoyed league bowling with his sons; shooting pool / billiards; was a faithful Atlanta Braves fan and a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fanatic; meticulously detailed his cars / and cars for others; a longtime Star Wars buff; was known to take in a scary movie from time to time; and had a lifelong dream of owning a Corvette someday. Above all, Guy was an extreme family man who always placed the needs of his family…..way before his own.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years & loving soulmate, Carol Ann Jacobs; their children, Paul (Kellie) Jacobs and Jamie (Jaime Ridosko) Jacobs; cherished grandchildren, Karma, Logan and Grant Jacobs;
half-brother, Jim Kilby; father-in-law, Norman (Wanda) Theres; sisters-in-law, Debbie Rowe and Barbie (Tim) Crane; special niece and nephews, Brittney and Chance Crane, Jeffery Rowe; other dear relatives and friends – too numerous to mention by name.

Guy was preceded in death by his Father & Step-Mother, Russell & Lou Jacobs; Mother & Step-Father, Leona (nee: Jensen) & Erv Edelberg; mother-in-law, Beverly (nee: Funk) Theres; brother-in-law, Scott Theres; niece, Tanya Rowe.

Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Butler officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm. In accordance to Guy’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. In memory of Guy, please consider signing the back of your driver’s license to become an organ & tissue donor. Even in death, Guy continued to give to others by giving a second chance to those in need, with the gift of life, through the organ & tissue recovery program.

A sincere note of thanks to the incredibly caring staff of Caledonia Fire & Rescue for doing everything in their powers in trying to save our wonderful husband and father. May God bless all of you!

    My deepest sympathies and prayers to all:
    Carol, Jamie, Paul and your extended family members. I consider myself so very blessed to have known Guy, and learn first hand what a true gentleman is. Who is more in love with his bride 40 years after thier first anniversary. Witnessing his pride with everything ,everytime his sons did anything. Guy loved to talk and spend any free time with his son’s: they were along with Tyson the light of his life!! For me, I was delighted to share moments singing some oldies with him … Like ” CAR WASH” !!! OH YEA, the fun we had dancing and singing!!!! All the way to our other favorite FOOTBALL!! I certainly couldn’t ask for a better combination. Guy made me believe there are still Awesome guys out there…. You can see how well Guy and Carol raised the boys, there wonderful.
    I will leave you with this GERMAN PROVERB:
    ~Those who live in the LORD~
    Never see each other for the Last Time. ~~
    My love to you always Carol, and
    All of you. God is with you always

    Oh my, Carol, Paul, Jamie and family. We were so shocked to hear this such very saddening news and our hearts go out to you in love, comfort, solace, prayers – everything imaginable that we want to give you to help in some way. Both Carol and Guy together were amazing as a devoted couple, as parents, and as individuals, so loyal, forgiving, and dependable. My Mom and Dad loved both of you dearly, too, and we thank you for your kindnesses to them for so many years. We can’t imagine what you are going through, especially at this Christmas time, but we want to give you the extra support and love you will need, even if we are far away. I will be calling you, for sure. With much love and deep sympathy, Susan+Bob

The Munoz Family

My siblings and I recently had the unfortunate experience of having to plan a funeral for our beloved mother – Juana Munoz. During this difficult time, we were fortunate enough to come across a funeral home that truly went above and beyond what was expected. Their attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our comfort and safety throughout the entire process was truly remarkable. From the moment we stepped foot into the funeral home, we were greeted with warmth and compassion. The staff members, but specifically Mark was incredibly understanding and empathetic, making us feel at ease during such a challenging time. Mark took the time to listen to our needs and wishes, and his guidance and support were invaluable. One aspect that truly stood out was Mark’s meticulous attention to detail. He paid close attention to every aspect of the funeral arrangements, ensuring that nothing was overlooked. From the floral arrangements to the music selection, every detail was carefully considered and executed flawlessly. Mark even noticed that the temperature in the room was getting warm and promptly adjusted it to ensure our comfort. What impressed me the most was their commitment to our safety. Mark and his team took every precaution to ensure that our family and guests were protected throughout the entire process. From the funeral home to the cemetery, Mark made sure that all safety measures were in place, including providing hand sanitizers, and even arranging for additional staff members to assist with crowd control. Furthermore, Mark’s professionalism and organization was evident in every aspect of the funeral service. He coordinated seamlessly with the cemetery staff, ensuring a smooth transition from the funeral home to the final resting place. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence truly made a difference in our overall experience. In addition to their exceptional service, the funeral home also provided us with resources and support beyond the funeral itself. They offered grief counseling services and connected us with local support groups, which proved to be invaluable during our grieving process. Overall, we cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Mark, and broader, Draeger Langendorf team. Their attention to detail, commitment to our safety, and genuine compassion made a difficult time a little more bearable. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of funeral arrangements, as they truly go above and beyond to ensure that every detail is taken care of and that families are supported throughout . the entire process. – Epifanio and The Munoz Family
