Ms. Hailee Anne Smith, age 21, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on September 1, 1993 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She was the loving daughter of Scott James and Lynn Michelle Johnson Smith. Hailee was raised in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin and later the family moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina for nine years. She was raised in the Lutheran faith. She was a 2012 graduate of Green Bay Southwest High School. She had resided in the Madison area for three years and was engaged to Johnathon Harvey Zearing with an approaching wedding date of July 2016. Hailee at the age of ten had undergone a kidney transplant and in July 2014 the transplant failed. She currently was undergoing kidney dialysis and suffered a deadly stroke. Hailee had worked for Festival Foods in Green Bay as a cashier for two years and most recently for Kroger, in Madison, as a cashier. Hailee was eagerly awaiting the opportunity to become a member of the Eastern Star and appreciated all the help from the Dupont Masonic Lodge. Hailee was passionate about organ donation and being able to give the gift of life, so in her death she chose to give life by donating all organs and tissue along with her beautiful hair to the Locks of Love. Hailee loved to go walking especially walking the new Madison Milton Bridge. She enjoyed campfires, video games, reading and being with family. Hailee died on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at 1:26 p.m. at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky as the result of a stroke. Hailee will be missed by her heartbroken parents, Scott James and Lynn Michelle Johnson Smith of Racine, Wisconsin; her fiancée, Johnathon Harvey Zearing of Madison, Indiana; her loving sister, Heather Smith of Appleton, Wisconsin; her loving paternal grandparents, Jim and Gloria Smith of Fort Myers, Florida; her loving maternal grandmother, Marlene Johnson of Racine, Wisconsin; her future father in law and mother in law, John & Betty Scully of Madison, Indiana; her future mother in law, Christy Sampson of Madison, Indiana; her aunts and uncles, Kristen and Ryan Christman; Brian Johnson; Stacy and Jeff Schmucker; Gordon and Christina Smith; her future sisters in law and brothers in law, Kaylynn Zearing, Mary Sampson, Jace Sampson, Chasity Scully and Landon Sampson. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lloyd Johnson. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Draeger Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Road in Racine, Wisconsin. Interment will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery in Racine, Wisconsin. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Draeger Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Road in Racine, Wisconsin. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
