Harvester “Duke” Kimmons was born on October 07, 1916 to the late Jet Kimmons and the late Elizabeth (nee: Pegues) Kimmons in Etta, Mississippi.

Harvester was a member of the high school basketball team, where he and his brother excelled in the sport, prompting one teacher to start a separate team for Harvester and his brothers to play.

Harvester was united to Geneva Cork for over 60 years until her death in 2015. The two of them migrated from New Albany, MS to Racine WI in the 1960s where he maintained employment at the Belle City Foundry for more than 25 years. After retiring Uncle Duke as he was affectionately known by his family ,spent his leisure time, fishing, gardening, and taking walks around his neighborhood.

Harvester was easy going with a quick smile, sharp wit and soft tongue. Hardly a harsh or foul word ever passed his lips, but that does not mean he could not hold his own for the right reason, usually to take care of his family. He was a devoted uncle offering support to his nieces and nephews, always offering support to them whenever and however they needed.

He was honored with a message from President Barack Obama in recognition of his 100^th birthday.  Before his illness, Uncle Duke was able to visit with two of his long-time playmates, confidants and friends; sister Mable and brother Claude.  He was getting tired and wanted to be with his loved ones that had gone on before him.

Uncle Duke left this earthly world after nearly 102 years, on September 19, 2018, following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters: Lloyd Kimmons, T.Y Kimmons, John Kimmons, Claude Kimmons, Paul Kimmons, Ludie Kimmons, Ioma Kimmons, Lois Kimmons, Inez Kimmons, Mable Kimmons and Mattie Kimmons.

Harvester leaves as the keepers of his memories, sisters, Maxine Crim, and Elois Richards of Aurora, Ill: brother, Harry Kimmons as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nephew, along with many friends and former co-workers.
