Helen Karwowski

Dec 29, 1924 – Dec 19, 2012

Racine – Helen (nee: Rosienski) Karwowski, age 87, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Wednesday, December 19, 2012.

Helen was born in Racine on December 29, 1924 to the late Michael and Josephine (nee: Krusienski) Rosienski. On July 14, 1945 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Stephen A. Karwowski, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2004.

Years ago, Helen began her career in the office of Saveway Lumber. Eventually, she went to be employed as a bookkeeper at Webster Electric, from where she retired after 23 years of service. Helen was a faithful member of St. Mary by the Lake Catholic Church. She was extremely talented in the art of crafts – especially in creating tissue box covers, refrigerator magnets and Christmas ornaments…in which she sold at local art fairs. Above all, Aunt Helen loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Antonette Rosienski; nieces and nephews, Charles (Jacqueline) Kierstyn, Lillian (Val) Pawlowski, Diane (Michael) Dunk, Patricia White, Joanne Wilhelm, Scott (Christine) Weill, Gregory Rosienski, Michael (Liz) Rosienski, Jill (Charles) Haubrich, Phyllis (Alex) Alrikas, Chester (Carol) Karwowski , Robert (Sharon) Karwowski, Gerald (Marie) Karwowski, Michael (Julie) Karwowski, David Karwowski, Henry (Kari) Karwowski, Kenneth (Renee) Karwowski and Anthony (Cindy) Karwowski; other dear relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her siblings, Adam, Walter, Stanley, Anthony (Hallie), Joseph and Chester Rosienski; Stella (Michael) Kierstyn, Jessie (Manton) Kiley, Rose Rosienski and Anne (Robert) Weill.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church, 7605 Lakeshore Drive in Caledonia, with Rev. Stephen J. Stradinger officiating. Entombment will follow in the crypts of Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 10-11 am. In memory of Helen, memorials to St. Mary’s by the Lake Parish or to the charity of one’s choice have been suggested.

Testimonials

December 18, 2024

Words cannot even begin to express the tremendous gratitude our family has for a team like the one at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home & Crematory. Thank you for the gentle lovely care over our mother Delia (Rosa) Balderas. Never having had a direct experience with a funeral home to this extent we didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t have a clue that they would step right in and have the most comforting team surrounding us that thought of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING for anyone in our position. It was very evident from the first discussion on the phone that they were already well prepared to handle every little detail for us that we weren’t even aware would be required. Mark and his team truly eased so much of the unknown worries right out of our path, and left room for us to just focus on the small personal details we wanted for our mom. It was nice to know that all cost involved was in black and white on their site as well as on paper at our first meeting. Leaving no room for question or doubt what so ever with any fee involved. It was truly a blessing to have everything written out so well and simplified with various price range options in a time that we needed crystal clear direction. Its been beautiful to see that their care and service didn’t stop after our mom’s service came to an end. They continue to be in communication with immediate responses as questions arise along the way. God bless Mark, and the entire compassionate team, to be around to guide many many more for generations to come through life’s most difficult times. You are all truly amazing.

Hilda Balderas
