Racine – Mr. Henry D. Lee, age 80, affectionately known to many as “Hentoe”, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 19, 2020.
Henry was born on March 5, 1940 in Ackman, MS to the late Robert and Beatrice (nee: Reed) Lee. Later in Henry’s childhood the Lee family moved to Attala County (Kosciusko) MS. Henry was 19 years old when he moved to Racine, WI. Henry accepted Christ at an early age and was later added to the Midtown Church of Christ. All of Henry’s life he was a hard dedicated worker; for every place of employment including: Standard Founding, Belle City, American Motors retiring from Chrysler after 30 years. Henry picked up a part-time job at St. Edward’s childcare working until his health failed him. Henry will truly be remembered for his work ethic. Henry was an avid fisherman; he enjoyed and took pride doing yard work for family, friends & himself. Hentoe was heart-broken when he could no longer do that. Henry was a laid back family man, you know smooth and really kind of cool; especially when he got suited up. Henry would change his walk you know like a slow drag or a swag. “Thought ya knew!” Hentoe had that too. His nieces would call him “Uncle Pimp” oh how he loved that especially when they say “Unk’ we got your back!” Henry loved his family and his T.V. shows from boxing to westerns. When those were on Henry was really into them. Henry was a great husband to Renee. They shared unconditional love, steady love as Renee was a great wife to Henry. She stayed by him every time he went to the doctor for what every reason! Henry was never alone in the hospital over night without Renee by his side. Renee was there every trip of the train. Hentoe felt safe knowing Renee was there for every surgery, stitch, x-ray, blood work even if Henry needed a band-aide you bet Renee was there.
Henry leaves to cherish his fond memories of his wife, F. Renee Lee; son, James Lee; daughters, Antonya First, all of Racine, WI; Anjanee First of Missouri City, TX; Jasmine Davis of Kenosha, WI; brother, James (Jack) Davis of Joliet, IL. Henry had 7 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, one granddaughter he called his baby! – Antwanette First (United States Navy): 5 great-grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters; mother-in-Law, Betty Lott; sisters-in-love/law, Ethyel Mae of Philadelphia, MS; Lula (John) Garrett, Tammy Gandy, Tonette (Brian) Miller, Janice Lott-Childers, Tiffany (Dewayne) Stevenson Sr., all of Racine, WI; Valeria (Henry) Conner Jr. of Burnville, MN; and brothers-in-love/law, Freddie Marsh-Lott, Gregory Lott Sr., Willie Lott, all of Racine, WI; Steve (Martha) Lott of Winneka Park, CA; Perry Lott of Oklahoma City, OK. Henry was an awesome father figure to many! All though Hentoe called everybody “Pal”, there were two that really stood out: Edward “Ed” Ayers and Bo Bester! He is further survived by many dear aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends too numerous to mention all by name. Henry was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Robert & Beatrice Lee; son, Anthony Wayne First, Jr.; brothers, Victor Lee, Sammie Lee and James Walter Lee; sisters, Juanita (Lee) High and Mary Lou (Lee-Dotson) Ruffin.
