Racine – Henry Lee Herron, age 78, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

Henry was born in New Albany, Mississippi on February 13, 1938 to JP Herron and Della Mayes-Middleton. He was employed by JI Case Company for over 21 years, retiring May 1, 1992 and was a member of UAW Local 180. Among his interests, he enjoyed western movies, hunting, fishing and "scooping the loop" around town in his car.

Surviving are his children, James (Linda), Frank (Jamie), Charles, and Kenneth (Erica) Herron; grandchildren, April, Tiara, James, Carvel, Brianna, Isaiah, Marie and Zarah; 10 great-grandchildren; loving mother of his children, Epsie Herron; brothers and sisters, Roxie Townsel, Jessie (Jerry) Crawley, Ella Williams, Margaret Mayes-Carey, Martha Hardaway, Virginia Gidens, Curley (Jan) Middleton Jr., Jerry (Rose) Mayes, Waverley (Blanch) Mayes and Tina Mayes; significant other, Lela Stills; longtime friends, Jake Jackson & Roy Butler; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends along with his God-son, Jamier Pratt.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sholanda Cade; brothers, Melvin Mayes and Romie Mayes; and one sister, Shirley Mayes.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Viewing will be in the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 – 11:00 am.
